Welcome to The Aurora RV Park & Marina
The Aurora, with its magnificent lakeside location on California’s largest freshwater lake, continues its more than a half million dollars of renovations as it strives to become THE premier RV Park in all of Lake County.
We are now in the middle of constructing a brand new, ADA-compliant, unisex restroom with sink, commode, and spacious shower. Additionally, the existing men’s and women’s restrooms are getting set for renovations in a style to rival the finest hotels. We have done the preliminary work on the floors of the laundry and the office, and will be putting up new walls and decorations shortly. Also in store is a complete remodel of the activities room, with paneling, a tile floor and renovations of the kitchen area.
Out at “the point,” we are about to pour a concrete path, stamped and colored to appear as wood planks. This will be beautifully landscaped with plants along the sides, leading to the pier that will be built once we can get the permitting completed. (There are four separate agencies we need approvals from before that can occur.) The pier will extend out toward Otter Island, and (if approved) with end in a large octagonal platform where dining – essentially in the middle of the lake – will be a highly sought treat. Meanwhile, the outdoor grill areas are available, and we still provide free use of the canoe and kayaks. (You really must try the truly enchanting experience of paddling quietly as the ducks and geese swim nearby, as an occasional fish leaps out of the water, and as the sun rises or sets over the surrounding mountains, radiating a brilliant orange across the entire sky.)
The Lakeside Theater is up and running, and we have the license needed to show movies, shortly after sunset, in a beautiful and serene setting (with the gorgeous lake right behind the screen). Our high-speed wireless has been further upgraded, so you can take care of your email and work on whatever Internet projects you have on your agenda. Fire pits are present in various locations, and we can readily add more if you find an additional safe location.
Our flowers are blooming big-time. If we haven’t presented you with one of our unique vases when you arrive, just ask us for one and you can have the aroma of a delightfully-scented rose in your rig or on your table. All our sites have been inspected and the water, sewer and electric hookups (30 & 50 amp) are all functioning perfectly. The biggest addition will be the swimming pool and the hot tub (set in a stone surround) – both of which will have “infinity edges” overlooking the lake. These, unfortunately, are still a ways off, since seawalls are required, and (in addition to being incredibly expensive) such construction requires navigation through a host of regulations.
Lake County still has the cleanest air in the nation, so you can marvel at the Milky Way virtually every night (perhaps as you step away from a campfire). And, speaking of the Milky Way, you undoubtedly will be more impressed every time you return and visit us as we continue our quest to become the Greatest RV Park in the Galaxy …
